Skype Instructions

1. Go to:  amycsj.blogspot.com – on the side bar, you'll find links to download Skype, and a link to call me once you have Skype installed.

2. Click Skype Tutorial to watch the tutorial on Skype if needed

3. Click Download Skype and Get and Account

4. On the Skype site, click download  and follow directions

a. save to desktop,

b. double click Skype icon on desktop

c. Select language, agree to terms and click install

d. Unclick install google toolbar and click next

e. Click start Skype

f. You will be prompted to create an account. It is free.

g. Go ahead and sign in.

h. You can add my SkypeID to your Skype contacts: amyhereford

i. Let anyone else you know who is on Skype know your SkypeID

5. To Make A Skype Call:

a. Open Skype on your computer

b. Sign in (the default setting for skype is to open skype and log every time you turn on your computer.)

c. Plug in your headset

d. Click the green phone beside any of your contacts. Anyone with a green check is logged in to Skype. The orange phone indicates skype is forwarded to a land line or cell phone. The grey x means the person is off line.

6. To Receive a Skype Call:

a. You will hear your computer ringing – click the green phone to accept the call.

b. Make sure you have your headset plugged in so you can talk to the person.

Note: You can use your computer speakers or the headset. You will need a microphone, the one on your headset, or another microphone.
